Last month, our Rugby World Cup 2023 customer service team travelled over to the home of the tournament to inspect and explore the cities that our MSG Family will be visiting later this year.
One of the cities visited was Cannes. For those who want to watch England v Japan or Wales v Portugal, this makes for a beautiful place to stay. Being only a 25 minute train journey away from Nice, it allows you to relax in the height of luxury before joining the hustle and bustle on match days.
Since returning from France, I caught up with Customer Experience Travel Co-Ordinator, Sam. He let us know more about what they got up to and the experiences our Supporters’ are in for. This is his postcard from Cannes:
“Just down the road from Nice was our next destination, the world-famous Cannes. Home to arguably the most well-known film festival. Despite not hosting a Rugby World Cup game, this city is still a must-see when possible.
“We tried to make the most of our limited time here. Starting with a walk by the port to marvel at the stunning boats that were docked up. We then had croissants and a coffee before walking up to the Chateau de la Castre, where we were able to get some extraordinary views of Cannes. We looked out over the port, beaches, and the home of the Cannes Film Festival, the best way to check those landmarks off your bucket list.
“After spending some time enjoying the wonderful views inside and outside of the church, we made our way down and wandered around the streets with some of the smaller, niche shops gaining much of our interest.
“If you weren’t already planning a day in Cannes, we would highly recommend adding it to your itinerary.”
We can’t wait to see you in Cannes later this year!
