A Postcard From Nice

Last month, our Rugby World Cup 2023 customer service team embarked on their own adventure in France to ensure it is ready for our MSG family to enjoy, and experience come September.

One of the cities they visited was Nice. This will become the site of many important fixtures during the tournament including Wales v Portugal and England v Japan to name but a few. It is one of the most beautiful cities in France with 300 days of sunshine on average per year.

Since returning from France, I caught up with Customer Experience Travel Services Administrator, Gaby. She gave us an insight into what they got up to and the kind of experience that our Supporters’ are in for. This is her postcard from Nice.

“Nice, the capital of the Côte d’Azur is one of the gems of the French south coast. After an evening flight into Nice, we were met with the ambiance of the French city centre. After a bit of exploring, we went to one of the many restaurants near the Fontaine du Soleil, a must-see.

“Transport here is incredibly straightforward. With just a 20-minute tram journey from the airport, Rugby World Cup fans will arrive here with ease. Some of our hotels are located close to the Grand Arenas Station, which is a perfect location for travelling both to the stadium, and directly into Nice, making it an ideal place for fans to stay.

“On the second day, we explored the Plage du Forum, a vast stretch of beach highlighted by the vivid sea. This beach is located on the Promenade des Anglais, with lots of restaurants and bars. The view was made better once we climbed the 220 steps up to the Bellanda Tower, showcasing a beautiful view of the city. We also looked around the Port de Nice Lympia, where there are impressive hotels, all within walking distance of the beach.”

We can’t wait to see you there later this year!
