Covid-19 FAQs
What happens if I am not fully vaccinated and the destination that I am travelling to changes their entry requirements, requiring self-isolation?
We encourage all clients to get fully vaccinated prior to travel. This makes travelling abroad easier for you and your touring group.
If you or members of your group are not vaccinated, you will need monitor travel advice for your destination closely here https://www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice.
We will continue to plan and make arrangements for your tour as normal, including reserving and making payments to suppliers. If a lack of vaccination is the only factor which prevents you or members of your group from travelling, we will be unable to issue refunds as we will have committed to our suppliers including airlines and hotels, who will not refund us. Therefore, if unvaccinated, bookings are made under your own risk.
When I book a tour with you, how am I protected against any cancellation?
ATOL
MSG Tours are members of the ATOL scheme (no.11101) which gives customers who have booked a flight-inclusive tour full financial protection in case of our insolvency. More information on the ATOL protection scheme can be found on our website https://www.msgtours.com/about/ or on the CAA website https://www.caa.co.uk/atol-protection/consumers/atol-certificate/.

ABTA
As an ABTA member (no.Y6465), the combination of travel services offered to you is a package within the meaning of the Package Travel and Linked Travel Arrangements Regulations. Therefore, you will benefit from all EU rights applying to packages. We, MSG Tours Ltd will be fully responsible for the proper performance of the package as a whole. Additionally, as required by law, we MSG Tours Ltd has protection in place to refund your payments and, where transport is included in the package, to ensure your repatriation in the event that it becomes insolvent.
Finally, we advise you take out suitable travel insurance to cover you for all other eventualities.
If I take my PCR test required by destination prior to travel and it is positive, will I get a refund?
We advise you take out a suitable travel insurance policy to cover this instance. Many insurers are now offering COVID medical cover.
What happens if I test positive while on tour?
This situation should be covered by your travel insurance. In the first instance, you must contact your insurers who will advise next steps. MSG Tours Ltd will support you whilst in resort to make any arrangements, which should be funded by your insurance provider.
What happens if travel regulations change before my tour?
We will continue to monitor travel advice in your destination before you depart. As the advice changes so frequently, we will consider any affects these may have on your tour, three weeks prior to departure. In the meantime, we will continue to plan your tour as normal.
I am travelling with under 16-year-olds who are not my children and may not be vaccinated. Is this possible?
This will depend on your destination. Please refer to https://www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice for more information. We are happy to help review this with you.
What if someone I have been in close contact with has tested positive?
In this scenario, we refer to the current isolation advice from your home government. If you are required to isolate following a close contact, please check your insurance policy to ensure you are covered in this instance.
I am due to make a payment on my tour, but current travel advice means I can’t currently go. Do I still need to pay?
Yes, you must meet all your contractual obligations to us including making payments. As the travel advice can change so frequently, we review travel advice three weeks prior to any departure. Any missed payments may result in cancellation with fees in line with our Booking Terms and Conditions.
I need to arrange tests to travel (destination or return to the UK), do you know how I can do this?
We are working with Chronomics (on a no commission basis) to provide PCR tests and Rapid Antigen Tests to our clients. You can purchase these here http://www.chronomics.com?via=msgtours and obtain a 5% discount using code Chron5. If your test must be done in person at a clinic, we suggest using a government–approved provider https://www.gov.uk/find-travel-test-provider.
I have tickets to a live event in my package - if this is cancelled, will I get a full refund?
If your tour is centred purely around this event (such as a trip to watch a specific sporting tournament) and this is cancelled, you will be entitled to a full refund, or a suitable alternative.
If your tour has another purpose (such a school group travelling to play sport), and we have included a live event as an excursion or addition and this is cancelled, we will arrange an alternative activity or offer a refund for the ticket value.
