The Purpose
We’re seeking a Finance Manager to help deliver our portfolio of ski, sport, supporters, and study travel packages to our Company’s exceptionally high standards. Reporting to and working alongside the Managing Director, the candidate will support the daily operations of our fast-paced business. The successful applicant will be commercial, organised, demonstrate a high attention to detail and an appreciation of the travel industry’s unique accounting mechanisms. The Role
The role entails monitoring the business from a financial and commercial perspective, incorporating management accounts, foreign exchange, bookkeeping, producing legal documentation, and auditing. You will be responsible for maintaining the business P&L, as well as ensuring the business maintain exceptional accounting standards. You will be able to identify necessary change and implement it to the team when needed.
Key Areas of Financial Responsibility
As a key member of the team and the head of finance you will have many important responsibilities such as but not limited to:
Producing monthly Management Accounts,
Managing a team of two apprentices at L3 and L4,
Foreign exchange purchasing and transacting,
Project management,
Insurance procurement, renewals and contracting,
Taxation,
Processing supplier payments (in various currencies),
Processing foreign exchange activity and working to conversion targets,
Annual VAT returns and other essential business reporting,
Monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations,
Managing grant funding from application to delivery,
Working alongside directors to manage strategic planning,
Coach, lead, and manage an enthusiastic working group,
Assisting wider team on finance functions
Working alongside the Head of Performance to deliver commercial targets,
Training existing staff and apprentices on financial systems,
And payroll.
Remuneration:
A hybrid, full-time role predominantly based in our satellite office in Derby, with homeworking opportunities available.
Contract available from February 2023 to further notice
20 days’ annual leave (plus bank holidays) on a pro-rata basis.
Salary negotiable subject to experience.
