L’apero
L’apéro is the part of the day when the French convene for a drink, often over small plates of food. We’re adopting this maxim to deliver your pre-game entertainment in true MSG style.
Before each matchday we’ll gather our fans in an exciting and innovative venue to enjoy each other’s company: included as standard in YOUR package.

Marseille
Marseille, France’s main port, is known as the ‘Gateway to the Orient’. This cosmopolitan city, open to the world from its prime position on the Mediterranean Sea, has been an important cultural and commercial crossroads.
Energise whilst there with climb to Notre-Dame-de-la-Garde (‘Good Mother’) which overlooks the city, stroll through the legendary Panier district, or relish a bouillabaisse at the Old Port. Escape the bustle of the city by hiking the trails of the Sormiou or Sugiton calanques, rocky inlets which offer breath-taking views over the sea.
Known for its passion for sport, Marseille welcomes Rugby World Cup 2023 to the Stade Vélodrome, after the successful hosting of the 1998 FIFA World Cup, Rugby World Cup 2007 and UEFA Euro 2016. The undoubted highlight will be Vélodrome’s hosting of two Quarter-Final clashes across the weekend of 14-15 October 2023.
Toulon
Think Toulon, think rugby. This is the closest you’ll get to an out and out rugby destination, rivalling the likes of Bayonne and Biarritz for passion from the locals.
An experience at the Stade Mayol is one to behold, yet sadly Toulon isn’t set to host any RWC 2023 fixtures. Instead, we’re encapsulating the rugby traditions with its stunning coastal location to offer midweek stays between fixtures in Marseille and Nice.
Its versatility and travel connectivity makes this a go-to touring spot. Enjoy wine tours, boat trips, museums and historical architecture to engage you throughout your stay, viewable from famed spots such as Point Sublime and the Rade de Toulon.
nice
Recognised as one of the most beautiful cities in France, Nice – the capital of the Côte d’Azur- is in the French Riviera between the Mediterranean and the Alps.
With 300 days of sunshine on average per year, there is no bad time of the year to visit Nice, a city loved by both tourists and the French alike. Try the Mediterranean gastronomic specialties of Nice, pan bagnat, pissaladière or socca in one of the small restaurants hidden away on the typical narrow streets of the city or on the piazzettas.
With its Italian influences and its famous Promenade des Anglais, the city is full of Mediterranean character. Boasting the success of a UEFA Euro 2016 host, Nice is ready for another international celebration during Rugby World Cup 2023, showing off its new stadium that prides itself on being one of the most environmentally responsible in Europe.
Lyon
The history of Lyon, the capital of Roman Gaul, reads like a Who’s Who of French cultural pioneers, including the Lumière brothers (the godfathers of cinema) to Paul Bocuse, a three-star Michelin chef.
Situated within the regions of Beaujolais and Côtes-du-Rhône, Lyon is famous for wine but also has a rich food tradition. No visit to Lyon would be complete without a visit to one of the ‘bouchons’, traditional restaurants unique to Lyon serving the local specialties and found in the alleyways of the Old Town, the Terreaux district, Rue Mercière and Rue des Marronniers.
Rugby World Cup 2023 will welcome players and fans to the OL Stadium, the third largest in France. After hosting RWC 2007 and the European Challenge Cup final in 2016, Lyon is the all-round ultimate fan experience.
Lille
Close to the border with Belgium, Lille can lay claim to being the most ‘European’ city of France. Renowned for its hospitality, generosity and friendly disposition, this quaint city is perfectly poised to offer a truly international welcome.
Whether you’re strolling along the Grand Place, wandering the Old Quarter of Lille or admiring the Vielle Bourse (the Old Stock Exchange), discovering Lille is a pleasure. This is evident at the Lille Braderie, a huge street market that attracts between two and three million visitors each year. Be sure to try the gastronomic specialties of the city including carbonnade, a Flemish beef dish, and waterzoï, a fish stew.
Lille has a tradition of hosting major events, both cultural and sporting. The Stade Pierre-Mauroy is an ultra-modern venue with a retractable roof and the ‘Boîte à Spectacles’ – a sliding pitch to accommodate other sporting events and concerts.
